Investment funds

How your money is managed

Choosing the right funds in which to invest is an important decision. Different funds have different aims and different levels of risk, so it’s important to select appropriate funds for your own financial goals.

Funds pool together the money of the individual investors in that fund. In return investors receive units, each one representing an equal share of the fund. Funds are managed by investment specialists, each with specific objectives but all with the general aim of increasing over time the value of the money invested in the fund.

Different types of fund

Our fund range is designed to meet the needs of all types of investors.

You might prefer to invest in our range of multi-asset funds which are graded according to their risk levels. By investing in different types of assets, these funds offer the benefits of diversification – the knowledge that your money is being invested across a number of assets which tend to behave differently. While the assets may not all perform well at the same time, it’s less likely that they would all perform less well over the same period too.

We also recognise that you may want more control over your investments and that’s why we offer a comprehensive range of individual specialist funds. These include individual-asset-class funds focused on specific asset classes and regional funds which concentrate on a particular geographic area. We also offer funds focused on certain industry sectors. A ‘global equity’ fund that invests in international shares would be a good example of an individual specialist fund.
